*AREA 2 WILL BE HOSTING THE ANNUAL AVU BBQ FUNDRAISER ON SEPTEMBER 17TH. THE MONTHLY AREA 2 AUGUST 20, MEETING WILL BE DEDICATED TO THE FINAL PLANNING STAGES OF THIS EVENT. WE ARE IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS IN MANY AREAS, FOOD SERVICE, RAFFLE BASKETS AND ITEMS AND BBQ TICKET SALES, ETC. PLEASE ATTEND THIS MEETING. THIS IS OUR 1ST BIG FUNDRAISING EVENT SINCE 2019 AND WE HOPE TO MAKE THIS A SUCCESSFUL AND FUN EVENT FOR ALL. ALL MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS ARE WELCOME.

Oak Park in Simi Valley 901 Quimisa Dr. Simi Valley, CA 93065 

All day fun family event, music, great raffle prizes and games for everyone. $15 BBQ ticket donation. Final stages BBQ meeting will be held at the usual AVU 2 monthly meeting venue, August 20. Let's make this a great family event  Click Here for Info

AREA 1 NEWS & INFO

*AVU Area 1 Central Coast - AVU Area 1 participated at the Santa Maria Elks Lodge No. 1538 Mini Stand Down held on Wednesday July 20, 2022. From noon to 3 p.m. Approximately 300 to 400 veterans and guests attended and enjoyed a delicious free lunch and heard speakers from various groups including Clettus McDonell, Area 1 VP and Elk officers. During the event, Suzanne "Sam" de St. Jean, AVU Secretary & Membership Coordinator handed out backpacks with socks and grooming needs as well as free shoes which were donated to the Elks. The Mini Stand Down was made possible due to a grant from the Elks Foundation. Future dates for two more Mini Stand Down at the lodge are scheduled for Wednesday, September 28 and November 30. Please check out photos of the event HERE.

*AVU Area 1 Central Coast - We are proud to announce that AVU came in 1st place at the Santa Maria Elks Parade that was held on June 4, 2022. A big Thank You to Clettus for making this happen and all of the Area 1 members that participated. Great job! Head over to the Photo Gallery to see the Parade float.

AREA 2 NEWS AND INFO

*AVU Area 2 Moorpark - Thank you to all the members that participated in the Moorpark Field of Valor. Especially Area 1 Board of Director, Loren Manes and his wife Nancy, who made the trip down from Lompoc.  Head over to the Photo Gallery to see some photos and videos of the event.

AREA 3 NEWS & INFO

*AVU Area 3 Orange County got together and assembled and delivered several backpacks to Patriots and Paws, in Anaheim, for distribution to Veterans in the Orange County area. These backpacks are full of essential items for both male and female veterans. Please head over to the Photo Gallery to see photos of the event.
